Pattern Description:

Alvin is a simple and fun cardigan worked seamlessly from the top-down. It features a pretty textured pattern and classic raglan lines, making it a good fit for girls and boys alike. The unusual folded collar provides interest while staying simple enough for beginner knitters.


20 sts and 32 rows = 4" in striped stockinette pattern, blocked

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 3m (6m, 12m, 2T, 3T, 4T, 6y, 8y)
  • Chest: 211/4 (22, 223/4, 251/4, 26, 271/2, 291/4, 311/2)", buttoned


  • 350 (400, 450, 525, 575, 650, 750) yds of worsted weight wool
  • 3 US size 7 (4.5mm) straight or circular 16 inches or longer
  • US size 8 (5mm) circular 32 inches or longer
  • Set of US size 8 Dpns (5mm) *optional
  • Set of US size 7 Dpns (4.5mm) *optional
  • 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7) buttons 1/2 inch (20mm) diameter

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle
  • 4 stitch markers
  • Pieces of scrap yarn

Suggested yarn:

350 yards of Worsted weight
