  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in one round on double pointed needles

Pattern Description:

Got a pattern request for a zebra kids beanie not long ago.
Here it is!
It has a two color ribbing, zebra stripes and zebra faces all around, a cute stripes crown and a zebra tail with a tiny pompon.

It has two colors throughout the whole beanie, so it(tm) also suitable for stranded knitting beginners.

I used 4-ply Acrylic yarn. You can use any similar 4- to 5-ply yarn (sock yarn, merino )

Please note: There is also a zebra beanie for bigger heads.

Gauge:

6 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in Knitting gauge: 6 stitches and 7 rows in 2 x 2 cm, Preemie knitting gauge: 8 stitches and 9 rows in 1 x 1 inch/2,5 x 2,5 cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS (35 - 37 cm head circumreference), S (38 " 40 cm head cirumreference) /M (about 42 " 43 cm). preemie; (XXS = 31 " 32 cm head circumreference

Materials:

  • 4 " ply yarn (sock yarn, Merino or Acrylic yarn):15 g in white or off-white and 15 g in black 4-ply Acrylic, Merino or sock yarn.
  • 5 double pointed needles

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle
  • pompon maker set

Suggested yarn:

214 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

buttinette versailles Acrylic
