Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit stitches, short rows, simple increases and decreases, finishing.

Pattern Description:

Wooler is a chevron scarf worked in garter stitch by Katya Frankel from her Head to Toe: Kids' Knit Accessories book.

Variegated yarn seems to work so well with a simple garter stitch, highlighting the directionality of the knit piece. The main part of the scarf is worked straight up with a chevron stitch all along and is finished by working a strip of garter set against the scarf's length.


15 sts and 36 rows = 4 in / 10cm in garter stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished size 54 in / 137 cm long 5 in / 13 cm wide.


  • 2 skeins of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted Multi (100% wool; 225yds/206m per 100g skein); #901 Baltic Sea. US #6 (4mm) long circular needle.

  • 2 stitch markers; yarn needle.
