IMPORTANT: There are changes to VAT legislation for digital sales in the EU as of 1/1/2015 which means VAT at the rate applicable to the country of purchase has to be added to the price. If nothing changes with the way Craftsy sells patterns by then, I'm sorry to say that I'll be withdrawing my patterns from sale at the end of 2014. Sorry to disappoint, but as a micro business, there is no other way unfortunately. My patterns will still be available on Ravelry, Loveknitting & Patternfish.
Inspired by a surprise & rare find of a wild orchid in a wood near my home, this sideways knitted shawl or shawlette is a versatile knit in two different depths and two versions (elongated crescent / triangle or asymmetrical). The garter body has an i-cord top edge which is worked at the same time as the rest of the shawl and a deep lace border of a flower panel and then fagoting which forms a zigzag lower edge.
For the crescent / triangular versions, half the yarn is used before starting the decrease section and the asymmetrical one can be worked to use all the yarn, making it adaptable to different yardages.
Although examples are in 3ply to fingering, it could also be made in a thicker yarn for a cosy winter wrap.
?Yarn (very flexible according to number of repeats), examples:
Shallow crescent: (18 - 20 rpts) fingering weight approx. 340 - 420 yd / 311 - 384 m
Deeper triangular: (24 rpts) 3ply: approx. 600 yd / 604 m
(26 rpts) fingering: approx. 740 yd / 677 m
Shallow asymmetrical: (26 rpts) fingering: approx.660 yd / 604 m
Deeper asymmetrical: (19 rpts) fingering: approx. 835 yd / 764 m
The detailed instructions are fully written as well as charted throughout.
The pattern has been fully tech edited and tested.

I've recently begun designing my own patterns and especially love working with texture and colours, although I love lace designs too. I try to create patterns that are easy to use and aimed at the advanced beginner who may like to try a new technique, for which I provide directions.
All my patterns are fully tested and professionally tech edited to make them as error proof as possible.
