Pattern Description:

Hand paints with highly contrasting colors are shown off to great effect in this simple reversible scarf and cowl pattern.

Short color repeats look best worked from side to side. If the yarn has a very long color repeat it may work better lengthwise or in a cowl.

Gauge:

20 sts/16 rows in wave pattern (fingering)
15 sts/13.5 rows in wave pattern (worsted)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Scarf: 6" wide, 50-60" long
  • Cowl: circumference 22", height 8.5"

Materials:

  • Scarf: 100g (350-450yds) fingering weight yarn
  • Cowl: 70g (170ds) worsted weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • needles appropriate for your yarn (e.g., US3/3.25mm for fingering weight, US7/4.5mm for worsted weight
  • darning needle
  • stitch marker (for cowl)

Suggested yarn:

350 yards of Fingering weight
