Scarflettes are a quick knit and make fun gifts. They are great for cold weather to keep
necks toasty warm without the bulk of a long scarf.
For this pattern, you will need to know the knit stitch and purl stitch. Although it is fairly simple, the result will be stunning.
The pattern consists of 8 repeating rows and it is recommended that you keep track of each row by using a row counter. The great thing about this particular pattern is that all front facing work is knit and all back facing work is purl. The knit rows will require cable work every other knit row.
Sizing can be altered by using different weight yarn and changing the size of the knitting needles. Following the pattern below will create a scarflette that measures approximately 5.5 inches wide and 18 inches long.
This pattern can also be modified to make a full length scarf; simply continue to knit to desired length and do not add buttonholes or buttons. Be sure to purchase extra yarn
54 inch scarf will require 3 times as much yarn
72 inch scarf will require 4 times as much yarn
