Pattern Description:

Companion mitts to the DAD SOCKS, these fingerless mitts are a great quick project to learn how to cable without a cable needle.

They make a lovely gift and, though designed with my male relatives in mind, they are certainly unisex.


28 sts & 38 rounds = 4in / 10cm in St st with larger needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • ONE SIZE FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Palm circumference: 8in / 20.5cm Cuff length: 2in / 5cm Total length: Approximately 81/4in / 21cm


  • YARN Approximately 250 yds of DK weight yarn. Shown in Knit Picks City Tweed DK, 55% Merino wool, 25% superfine alpaca, 20% Donegal tweed, 123 yds / 50g ball, 2 balls Poseidon. NEEDLES US1.5 / 2.5mm US2 / 2.75mm, or size to obtain gauge

You Will Also Need:

  • (3) stitch markers, one unique for beginning of round; yarn needle; cable needle

Suggested yarn:

250 yards of DK weight
