Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic knowledge of circular fair isle knitting and chart reading required

Pattern Description:

The tulip motif continues all around, onto the palms, where stealth peasant-style thumbs meld perfectly into the patterning. Charts for the entire alphabet and all digits are given so that you can work initials, the date or any secret message you'd like into the thumbs.

Gauge:

36 stitches per 4" / 10cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sized for an adult lady's hand; 8 1/2" / 21.5cm finished circumference, when knit to gauge.

Materials:

  • Four 25g balls of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, 115 yds / 105 m per 3/4 oz / 25g.
  • Shown: Two balls of Merlin #324, one ball of Natural White #104 and one ball of Prussian Blue #726.

You Will Also Need:

  • One set of 5 double pointed needles in US size 1 or 1 1/2 (2.25mm or 2.50mm)
  • Alternatively, you can use two short ciruclar needles, or one extra long circular needle.
