Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting on double point needles, basic decreases and increases (as described in pattern)

Pattern Description:

"Oh Mother dear, see here, see here! Our mittens we have found!..." Just like the nursery rhyme that inspired them, these cozy mittens will delight your little kittens and keep their paws toasty warm. Designed to be ambidextrous, these versatile mitts can be worn on either hand, with the face on the palm or on the back of the hand. They are made in the round from cuff to fingertips. Whimsical and quick to knit, you'll find that these mitts are almost as much fun to make as they are to wear.


28 stitches and 38 rounds = 4"/10cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • To fit children ages 2 through Adult Small
  • Finished hand circumference - 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 inches
  • Length can be customized


  • Spud and Chloe Fine (fingering weight yarn)150 to 200 yds total, size 1 1/2 (2.5mm) double point needles

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 buttons- 1/4", a sewing needle and thread, a tapestry needle, stitch markers, a small amount of scrap yarn or embroidery floss for embellishment
