  • knit
  • purl
  • K2TOG (knit two stitches together at the same time)
  • basic cabling

~You & Baby will be ready for your woodland adventures with this fun cable hat!

Pattern is written in very easy to understand terms, so that your project is fun & quick to make! Very basic cabling knowledge required.

Uses #5 Bulky/Chunky weight yarn, US101/2 (6.50mm) circular needles or DPN.

Knits in approximate baby - Adult sizes:
(0-3 months) -13"-14" head circumference
(3-6 months) - 15"-17" head circumference
(6-12 months) - 17"-18.5" head circumference
(12-24 months) - 18"-20" head circumference
(24-48 months) - 20"-21" head circumference
(5-10 years) - 21"-22" head circumference
(Adult) - 22"-23" head circumference

Gauge:

13 stitches = 4" in stockinette stitch on US101/2 (6.50mm)needles.

  • 0-3mos(3-6mos)(6-12mos)(12-24mos)(24-48mos)(5-10yrs)(Adult)

Materials:

  • US10.5(6.50mm) -16" length circular knitting needles or DPN
  • US10.5(6.50mm) DPN for decreasing rows & smaller sized hats
  • cable needle(DPN works also!)
  • Chunky weight #5 yarn approx. (60-90 yards/55-82 meters)

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch marker
  • tapestry needle
  • row counter
  • scissors

Suggested yarn:

90 yards of Chunky weight
