  • standed colorwork
  • Latvian braid (explained in pattern)

Pattern Description:



The symmetrical heart and spear motif breaks through the latvian braid, creating interesting detail in these mitts.

The pattern is appropriate for intermediate colorwork knitters. It includes instructions for the braids. The chart is color coded.

I used approximately 100 yards of pink and 110 yards of white fingering weight yarn. (the sample was knit in opal sock yarn, but any sock/fingering weight will do).

Gauge:

8.5 sts and 10 rows/inch in stranded color work

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • women's medium 7.5" hand circumference

Materials:

  • US 1 (2.25mm) dps or circular needles

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Suggested yarn:

210 yards of Fingering weight
