Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting flat
  • picking up stitches

Pattern Description:

The culturally traditional cape takes on modern wearability in this innovative, yet easily executed, design. Begin with an edging that uses Elizabeth's Lace Lattice from "On the Edge" by Nicky Epstein. After binding off, you'll pick up stitches along the straight edge and then create a strikingly graphic design by dropping and crossing stitches. Fasten with an i-cord drawstring woven through an eyelet row for a cape full of artistic energy.

3.375 sts/in and 4.125 rows/in = 15 sts/4" and 16.5 rows/4" in Lattice on size 9(5.5mm) ndls
