Pattern Description:

Sweet lilac is a very easy and fun sideways shawl worked in a combination of lace polka dots and garter stitch. The fun edging is worked as a long type of picot, for a simple yet striking visual effect.

The center of the shawl is worked with short rows to give it a true crescent shape. The design lends itself particularly well to variegated yarns and makes quick and simple knit for the advanced beginner.


24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in garter stitch, blocked.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size : 54"X13"


  • 1 skein of Knitpicks Stroll Hand Painted (fingering weight, 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 462 yds per 100gr skein). Sample shows color "Lake Front".

You Will Also Need:

  • Size 4 (3.5 mm): 32" circular or long straight needle
  • 2 stitch markers
  • Yarn needle

Suggested yarn:

400 yards of Fingering weight
