Pattern Description:

Sweet Caroline (ba ba ba!)
Good times never seemed so good.
I've been inclined to believe they never would!

Sweet Caroline is a top-down, crescent shaped shawlette using a Shell Lace pattern that melds into a leaf motif. The modified gart-tab-cast-on & shaping of the shawl have been engineered to minimize the "point" that often develops on a top-down crescent shawl.

The project requires 2 skeins Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light(420 yds/~105g), or 1 skein Malabrigo Sock (440 yards/100 g), or approx 420 yards fingering weight yarn.
(Please note that you may only require 1 skein of Tosh Merino Light. These skeins are generally ~110 grams each, but occasionally, I have found a skein to be underweight, in which case, a second skein will be required to complete the project. Additionally, if your gauge is looser than the stated blocked gauge, you will require more yarn as well. Therefore, I recommend 2 skeins of Tosh for the shawlette).

A word about gauge: I blocked the bazinga out of this shawl, and the stated gauge is based on the blocked measurements. However, it's my experience that stst blocks out a little differently in the crescent shape than it does in a straight up stst swatch or sweater. For example, I generally get 23 st/4" with the recommended needle size and yarns in a typical stst gauge swatch. However, it blocks much wider in this type of pattern.

Pattern includes both written and charted directions for the lace pattern.
