Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, decreases.
  • Stranded knitting
  • Knitting in the round
  • Directions included for Braided cast on, Twined Herringbone edging, and thumb gusset increases.

Pattern Description:

Stinky Pink contains detailed directions for Braided Cast On, Twined Herringbone Edging, and Raised Increases. The pattern includes charts for right-hand and a left-hand mittens with skunk and floral motifs. Written directions and charts for colorwork.

All my mitten patterns include other knitting tips in regard to yarn dominance, floats, decreases, and increases.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 93 rows cuff to tip. Thumb gusset begins on row 25 and ends after row 40.
  • Two sizes, 64 stitch small/medium & 68 stitch medium/large.
  • small/medium uses 256 - 315 yards.
  • medium/large used 265 - 340 yards.


  • Needle US 0 (2.0mm) 32" cable for Magic Loop or equivalent dpn's. Size to obtain gauge.
  • Darning needle, 12" waste yarn, 2 stitch markers.
  • Yarn: fingering weight. 150 yds of natural, 100 yds of black, 68 yds of pink.
