Starry Night can be made as a circular scarf/cowl (knit in the round) or as an open rectangle scarf. The pattern uses an easy, but interesting, textured stitch and knits up really fast!
What a great way to use up your stash or quickly knit up that beautiful new yarn you just brought home! This is a great pattern for a weekend trip, on an airplane, or in front of your favorite tv show.
Easy-to-follow instructions are included to make any length of scarf that you choose, using many yarn weights.
Do a test swatch in the stitch in instructions and adjust your needle size to get the desired open effect. That's more important than gauge in a circular scarf. Instructions are included to calculate number of cast on stitches based on your swatch gauge.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
54" circumference, 6 inch width or as wide as you'd like to make it. In this case I was limited by the yarn I had left from another project. If you want a longer or shorter scarf simply adjust your cast on amount by a multiple of 3 stitches.
