Basic Skills Necessary:

  • provisional cast-on
  • how to knit nupps
  • read charts
  • Kitchener stitch (grafting)
  • attaching an edging

Pattern Description:

Named for St Martin, the patron saint of Utrecht (Netherlands), this wrap features Estonian lilies and a center mesh pattern. The edging is knitted on at the end. The pattern assumes that you know how to cast on provisionally, knit nupps, read charts, and graft (Kitchener stitch).

It can be easily resized and/or knitted with a moss stitch border.

This pattern has been test-knitted.


10.5 stitches = 2 inches in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 60" x 20" / 153 x 50 cm


  • 4 mm / US 6 circular needle
  • 3.25 mm / US 3 dpns
