Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round
  • knit and purl

Pattern Description:

Cute autumn hat :)
My squirrel beanie is knitted from 4-ply sock yarn of different manufacturers but you can also use 4-ply Acrylic or Merino yarn.

For bigger sizes you can go up a needle size and/or use 5-ply yarn or both.

The beanie has a corrugated multicolor ribbing, followed by bands of oak leaves, acorns and cute little squirrels with nuts.
At the top are pairs of squirrels with nuts and oak leaves.

The beanie is a bit longer than my usual beanies. So for small heads it will be more of a long beanie. For bigger heads it will fit just fine.

As a another autumn variation you could change the leave color to red or orange

It(tm)s easier to knit than you may think as there are at most two colors in one round. :)

Enjoy and happy squirrel knitting!
