Basic Skills Necessary:

  • know basic sock construction
  • knitting in the round
  • cabling - with or without a cable needle

Pattern Description:

Squigglez is a sock with traveling in mind that can be worked three ways; two with unusual gusset treatments and one with a traditional heel and gusset. Original style features offset traveling columns, while the Alternative version offers an unusual gusset plus synchronized traveling columns, and finally K.I.S.S. (keeping it simple squigglez) which has synchronized traveling columns and a traditional gusset and heel.

Squigglez is also a sock with a purpose - fifty cents from the sale of each pattern will go to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital's area of most urgent need. So not only do you get to knit a fun sock you're also helping bring some smiles and comfort to the kids at Le Bonheur!


8.5 sts x 12 rounds = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
34 sts x 48 rounds = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Unisex Sizing & Stitch Counts S/M 54 st ct, 66 M/L 66 st ct, L/XL 78 st ct


  • 380 to 450 yards of fingering weight yarn
  • 2 - US #2/2.75 mm 24" inch circular needles
