Pattern Description:

Socks to wear with sandals (or just because!)... a little unusual looking off the feet, but good-looking on your feet AND what fun to wear!

Thong Socks have a split between the large toe and the rest of the sock, and are often referred to as tabi socks after the sewn version used in Japan.

Includes distinct shaping for right and left feet, with separate big toe. A resilient slipped stitch 3,2 ribbing in cuff as well as instep makes these socks extra comfy.

8 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch

  • 2 - 50g skeins fingering weight sock yarn (400 - 450 yards); depending on the length sock you make, you will use somewhat less e.g. 70g/300 yards was sufficient for a finished sock foot length of 9.5" with a 5.5" cuff (shown in Brown Sheep Wildfoote color Brilliant Bouquet)
  • Size 1 US (2.5 mm) double point needles, set of 4 (or size to achieve gauge)
