Sometimes all a girl needs is a little something around her neck to feel cozy. The Southern Comfort Neck Cuff is a lovely combination of bulky yarn and lace mohair. This wonderful accessory looks equally beautiful with a t-shirt and jeans or a winter wedding gown. It is simple to make, takes only a few hours, so you can make several in different colors. Make one in white or ivory for a bride to wear on her wedding day. It looks beautiful all in the same color tone, or make it in contrasting colors for a fun, bold look. Adorn it with a sparkly button, a vintage button, a simple mother of pearl button or even a favorite pin in place of the button. The ruffled edging around the buttonhole highlights whatever button you choose.
Using bulky weight yarn and size 10.5 needles in seed stitch pattern: 3 sts and 6 rows per inch
gauge really isn't too important for this item since it isn't a garment. Bulky yarn can vary greatly in thickness, if you find a yarn you would like to use go ahead and use it! A bulky yarn on the thinner side will make a cuff that is a bit more narrow, a bulky yarn on the thicker side will make a cuff that is a bit wider. You can also substitute worsted weight yarn or heavy worsted weight yarn to get a smaller width to make a cuff that would fit a child. You will be knitting your cuff until you get the length you would like so the row gauge isn't overly important.

My passion is creating knitting patterns that I can share with other knitters. I love the coziness, texture and visual design of knitted fabric. If I could cover everything in the house with knitting I would, and I'm workin' on it! My husband and two teenage boys are wonderfully supportive of my knitting habit and thankfully don't mind living among lots of yarn balls and knitting books. Patterns for knitted lampshade covers, lovely throws, knitted pillow covers and of course knitted curtains are all in the works so check out my projects as I work on them and then my patterns shop to try them out yourself!
All the patterns I sell in my shop come with pattern support. Just send me an email (included in pattern) or post a comment and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have, I love to talk knitting:)
