Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit in the round
  • cables

Pattern Description:

A slouchy tam with a simple cable and mesh pattern. Worked in fingering weight yarn, Sorcha provides just the right amount of warmth for those crisp autumn days. Don't let the small gauge fool you - it's a surprisingly quick knit.

Gauge:

28 sts and 36 rows = 4" in st st with larger needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 22", to fit 18-24", depending on severity of blocking

Materials:

  • 220 yds (200m) fingering weight yarn
  • Size 2 US (2.75mm) 16" circular or 32" circular for magic loop
  • Size 3 US (3.25mm) 16" circular or 32" circular for magic loop
  • Size 3 US (3.25mm) dpns (if not using magic loop)
  • cable needle
  • stitch marker(s)
