This is a detailed written knitting pattern in pdf format for a Sock Monkey hat.
I decided to design a Sock Monkey hat at the request of one of my daughter's friends. It is worked flat on two needles. I have used seed stitch for the earflaps and brim, garter stitch for the intarsia mouth, ears and crown and stocking stitch for the main body. The hat is finished off with ties/tassles and a pompom using all three colours used in the hat. The instructions cover four sizes from baby to teen/woman.
The photograph shows the hat modelled by my 15 year old daughter.
Happy Knitting!
22 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm/4in using 4mm/US 6 needles over stocking stitch after light steaming.

I have a passion for designing knitwear for babies and children, I then write up the designs as patterns to share with other knitters. Inspiration comes from the countryside near where I live and my own children. However, the knitwear design has to come second to my part time job, the household chores and one of my high maintenance cats, Basil!
