This very cute little hat for a newborn baby is soft and warm and would make a gorgeous photo prop. Knit with super chunky yarn this hat knits up in an evening and would make a wonderful last minute gift.
This pattern would suit beginner knitters and is a perfect opportunity to practice knitting in the round on a small project. Techniques used include knitting in the round, increasing (make one and knit front and back), the (optional) tubular cast off and working an I-cord.
3.5 stitches and 4 rows per inch in stockinette stitch
27 yards of Bulky weight

I use my engineering training to design clever knitting patterns that allow you to choose from a variety of techniques to make gorgeous toys as individual as you are. These fun-to-knit patterns grow from the toes up and can be assembled as you knit; guaranteed to amaze young children and make your knitting group smile.
(Occasionally I also design a non-toy pattern, like the cowl in the picture).
