Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with two colors in one round
  • knit and purl

Pattern Description:

As I have seen so many winter patterns already I also started to make my first winter theme beanie for this year.
It has snowflakes in white and blue bands all around and also a small snowflake at the top.

It will also look great in a darker blue and white version.

Note: For bigger heads, use bigger needle size or 5-ply yarn.

Knitting gauge: 1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows in stranded knitting.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 52 to 54 cm head circumreference
  • For bigger sizes use 3.5mm needles and/or 5-ply yarn


  • circular needle size 3.00 mm (40 cm)
  • a set of double pointed needles size 3.00 mm for the top of the head
  • about 50 g of jeans blue 4-ply sock yarn
  • about 50 of off-white 4-ply sock yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Buttinette sckli 4-ply sock yarn
