Pattern Description:

This versatile accessory can be worn pulled down around the neck to lay on the shoulders as a dressy cowl neckline, or pulled up over the head as an elegant head covering.

The smoke ring is begun with a strip of lace edging, then stitches are picked up and knit in the round in another lace stitch pattern. A decorative bind off completes the smoke ring knitted tube.

Detailed instructions are included for beginning the strip with a provisional cast on and grafting for an invisible seam.

Pattern stitches are both written out and charted.

Gauge:

5.5 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 2 sizes - 22" [24"] circumference and 18" length

Materials:

  • 300 - 325 yards lace weight or fingering weight yarn
  • Size US 6 needles suggested
