Pattern Description:

A scarf for all seasons, Skipperling combines lace and twisted stitches in an elegant, feminine design that works equally well with jeans and a jacket or a little black dress. It's knit in fingering weight yarn in one piece, from end to end--no grafting required.

Blocked dimensions: 54 inches/137 cm by 8 inches/20 cm

Gauge: 25 sts/30 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in lace pattern after blocking

Yardage: 375 yards/342 m fingering weight yarn. Sample was knit with Sunshine Yarns Luxury Sock in the Lone Wolf colorway.

Needles: US 4/3.50mm OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, stainless steel T-pins, blocking wires (optional)

Pattern instructions: written and charted

Techniques: The scarf's lace pattern has "action" rows on both the RS and WS (i.e., yarn overs and decreases are worked on every row). Techniques include casting on, binding off, knit, purl, ktbl, ptbl, yarn overs, ssk, k2tog, p2tog, p2tog-tbl.

Difficulty: Advanced/confident beginner to intermediate. Some lace experience helpful.

Gauge:

25 sts/30 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in lace pattern after blocking
