I love this and am going to try and make it, first of all can you tell me if the slip stitches are slipped knit ways or purl ways, also when I downloaded the pattern I am having a hard time distinguishing between the k3tog. symbol and the k2tog.thru back loop, which one is the one with the little tail on the top of the symbol, thank you and what a lovely project, have not done anything in crochet cotton in years, wish me luck

A good rule of thumb is that stitches are always slipped purlwise unless stated otherwise in the pattern, to keep everything looking the way it should and keep the stitches from getting twisted!
