Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic Knitting Stitches
  • Knitting in the round with double pointed needles

Pattern Description:

This is a fun project, and it is also great for anyone wanting to try out a new lace pattern or to expand their hat making skills. While this design is patterned on all rows, it is easy to follow in the round. The lace pattern continues through the top of the hat crown for a unique, full lace hat. The Alpaca yarn creates a soft, comfortable and warm hat. The open work in the pattern also makes the sizing very flexible, reducing the importance of gauge. This is a great pattern for any knitter that has done a hat in the round before, or a beginner with access to some help. This hat is a very manageable project to complete. It also makes a great gift, but you will probably want to keep it for yourself!
