Basic Skills Necessary:

  • advanced stranded knitting experience
  • know how to knit a short-row heel

Pattern Description:

This is a complete and detailed knitting instruction for my beloved sheep socks.

The instructions for the short-row heel are included but it would help if you had already knit one before.
Note: You can alse replace the heel by any heel you prefer.

For size 35 and 38 the stitch count is included in detail for bigger sizes there are some notes in the pattern.

I wish you as much knitting and wearing fun with these socks as I had and still have when wearing them.


1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • foot size 35 and 38 is included and there are some notes for bigger sizes included


  • about 40 g of 4-ply sock yarn in off-white
  • about 40 g of flecked green 4-ply sock yarn (or simply green)
  • about 25 g of 4-ply sock yarn in black
  • about 25 g of 4-ply sock yarn in dark green
  • 5 double pointed needles 2.5 mm or 3.0 mm depending on how tight you knit and how many stitches you cast on
  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

green yarn (Fortissima socka color (Schoeller Stahl)), Buttinette sckli in off-white, black and dark green
