Basic Skills Necessary:

Pattern Description:

A friendly shark to wrap around your neck - he bites his own tail instead of you!
Long enough for an adult as well as a child (but not suitable for children 3 year old and under).
Try him in different colours.


18 sts, 34 rows on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles in garter stitch (knit every row) and 8 ply yarn = 10 cm square.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approx 80 cm long from nose to tail, 15 cms wide at widest part of body.


  • 8 ply yarn / DK yarn: main colour x 75 gms, contrast colour x 20 gms for fins and tail, white x 5 gms for teeth
  • 1 pr 4.5 mm (US 7) needles, 1 pr 3.5 mm (US 4) needles

You Will Also Need:

  • a pair of 18 mm sew-on "joggle" eyes (unsafe for children 3 yrs and under)
