Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit
  • purl
  • k2tog= knit two stitches together
  • yo= yarn over

Pattern Description:

This textured cowl features a repeating triangle pattern which resembles shark fins or sails.

The cowl is knit flat and will need to be sewn up with a tapestry needle in the final step using the Mattress technique.

This technique is explained in the pattern with diagrams.

Gauge:

20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished cowl measures approximately 26" around x 7" in height.

Materials:

  • 150 yards of Worsted weight yarn
  • Size 8 knitting needles
  • Tapestry needle
