Educator and civil rights activist Septima Poinsette Clark (May 3, 1898 - Dec. 15, 1987) began fighting for equal access to education and civil rights for African Americans and minorities in the early 1920s. She is known as the "Queen" or "Grandmother" of the American Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Throughout her life, Mrs. Clark traveled the country to fight for equality, establish schools and empower communities through education.

Hello, I'm Anne Kuo Lukito. I'm a hand-knitting designer and my works have been published in many books and top magazines, such as Knitty, Interweave Knits, Knitscene and Twist Collective,. I've also contributed designs to and worked with several yarn companies. Recently, I designed the Fall Collection for Manos del Uruguay yarns.
While knitting is my dominant craft now, I've always been a crafter and sewer. I used to make my own clothes in high school and made jewelry. Two years ago, I got a bit into silversmithing as well.
Aside from freelance design work, I am also have a couple of publishing projects coming down the pike. I also have a small boutique business, Crafty Diversions (craftydiversions.com), which distributes other designers' patterns and products to yarn shops and retailers.
