Pattern Description:

In Irish folklore, once every 7 years the Selkie, or seal woman is able to shed and hide her skin in order to become human, dance along the moonlit shores and to be with the human that she loves.

Be swept away in a whimsical knit inspired by a magical story.

Gauge:

10 stitches and 14 rows over 4 inches of stockinette stitch with US size 15 (10.0mm) knitting needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One Size with finished measurements of 41"(102.5 cm) wide, 9" (22.5 cm) cowl depth, 16" (40 cm) body depth

Materials:

  • 7 skeins Malabrigo Yarn Chunky (100% Merino, 104 yards per skein), or comparable wool yarn (curvy figures, or taller body types may require and extra skein) Model is 5'7 and 34 bust.

You Will Also Need:

  • US size 15 (10.0 mm) 48 inch (120cm) circular knitting needle
  • US size 13 (9.0mm) knitting needles straight or circular
  • 4 stitch makers to mark raglan sleeves
  • 2 stitch markers to mark the back cable pattern
  • Cable needle
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • 4, 1.25 inch buttons, plus matching thread and needle

Suggested yarn:

728 yards of Chunky weight
