I love finding new ways to add something different to knitted fabric. This gathered or "ruched" stitch was just the ticket to give this hat a great texture and unique look.
The hat is worked from the bottom up and uses a cable needle to create the ruching, no cables - just some gathering! It is fun to knit and goes very quickly because most of the hat is simply stockinette stitch knitted in the round, with ruching rounds worked every 7 rounds.
14 st/in in stockenette stitch

Knitting has become my main focus. I love to create new designs, and to figure out new ways of doing things. I really want my designs to be easy to wear, AND well fitting and flattering. There is no need to take all the time to make something if it is not going to be worn!
Although I love to create a well fitting, good looking cardigan or pullover, I also really like to crank out accessories. There is nothing like the feeling of getting a project, or a new pattern done!
I self publish. Those are the designs that you see here on Craftsy. I also design for yarn companies and knitting publications on a regular basis.
