Pattern Description:
The shawl is faroese shaped with a lace gusset and lace scalloped border. The pattern is written with easy, step-by-step instructions. While we don't believe in difficulty labels, (anything can be accomplished if you just give it a try!), I believe that the gusset panel and scalloped border would require an intermediate level of knitting experience. There is generous shoulder shaping that helps keep the shawl securely on one's shoulders. Finished size: 60" x 26". Requirements: 650 yards of laceweight yarn and size US8 (5mm circular needles).
Gauge:
6 sts, 6 rows = 1" in fully blocked garter stitch
Materials:
- Lorna's Laces Helen's Lace, 1 skein, 4oz, 1250 yards
- Malabrigo merino lace, 1 skein, 100gm, 850 yards
- OR 700 yards laceweight yarn required
- US8 (5mm) circular needles
- US8 (5mm) dpns
