Pattern Description:

This is such the iconic girlie girlie purse. It was called a saddle bag back then but we sometimes to refer to it as a bowling bag purse. Whatever you call it, it is adorable. A great way to feature a lovely yarn and fabulous button. This would make a terrific gift or make yourself for Easter Sunday.

The pattern book doesn't have a date on it, but based on other pictures in the book, I'd say this is from the late 50s possibly really early 60s.

Since this is a vintage pattern, you are welcome to make as many bags as you like for sale either online or at your local craft fair. The pattern file, however, is protected by my copyright and you may not resale, redistribute or modify the pattern file in any form.

Materials:

Pattern calls for two strands of Knit-Cro Sheen to be held together, can use any stiffer fingerling weight yarn. Needs to knit on size 3 needles. I made this a couple of years ago in a wool for a friend, turned out nicely.
