I was trying to knit something my 6 months old girl could wear in the spring. I discovered cotton yarn and absolutely loved it!! I had visions of a bonnet with a small ruffle for the brim and open in the back. My mother in law thought it reminded her of the bonnets when she had her children.
I had fun and my first bonnet I made did not include an eyelet row. But, the finished product just begged to have a ribbon. My final design added the eyelet row and ribbon and it was perfect!
Pattern knits up fast and easily! But, has a very classic summery look!
A comment from one of my testers: "This was a pleasure to work on, the pattern was a breeze and it worked up very quickly. And it is so cute too!"
I hope you and that special baby you are making this for can enjoy this classic spring bonnet too!!

My name is Lara and I love to knit! I have been knitting for 10 years. My oldest son is almost 10! Before he was born, I picked up the needles and taught myself to knit! I started with a scarf, jumped to a jacket and hat for my newborn and then to a baptism gown! I have knit many, many sweaters, hats, mitts, socks over the last 10 years! Everytime I pick up needles, I have something else in my mind I want to try!
I have an electronic systems engineering degree, but have chosen to stay home with my children at this moment. I love working with numbers, so writing up patterns is a great challenge for me!
I have 6 wonderful children, so have many opportunities to knit for them! I have also learned some crocheting as I find it adds to my knit projects!
I hope you enjoy these patterns as much as I do!
