Pattern Description:

Ropes n Pearls is a heavily textured duo made of beanie and buttoned scarf featuring little cables and fancy ribbing that are easy on the hand.
The beanie is worked entirely in the round from bottom up while the scarf is worked flat and sized to fit snug around the neck with the small size or a looser effect with the large size.

Both charted and written directions are included in the pattern.

Gauge:

24 sts and 28 rnds over 4" / 10 cm in pattern stitch worked in the round on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles before blocking

18 sts and 23 rows over 4" / 10 cm in St st worked flat on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Hat:
  • Toddler (Child, Adult M, Adult L) to fit a head circumference of 17.5-19 (19.5-21, 21.25-23, 23-25)" / 44-48 (49-53, 54-58, 59-63) cm
  • Scarf:
  • Short (Long) length
  • 6" (15) cm wide and 20 (44.5)" / 51 (114) cm long blocked

Materials:

  • Hat:
  • 0.4 (0.5, 0.6, 0.7) skein Malabrigo Yarn Rios (100% Merino Wool; 210 yd /192 m per 100 g skein) or approx 86 (105, 131, 147) yd/ 78 (96, 120, 135) m of a dk or light worsted weight wool or wool blend
  • Sample (Adult Medium Size) shown in Sand Bank
  • You should be able to knit the complete set with two skeins
  • Alternate Yarn: Cheval Blanc Mrina
  • Sample (Child Size) shown in color # 101
  • Scarf:
  • 0.7 (1.5) skein(s) Malabrigo Yarn Rios (100% Merino Wool; 210 yd /192 m per 100 g skein) or approx 147 (305) yd/ 135 (280) m of a dk weight wool or wool blend

You Will Also Need:

  • US 6 / 4 mm 16"/ 40 cm circular needle
  • US 7 / 4.5 mm 16" / 40 cm circular needle
  • and set of double-pointed needles (or long circular, if working Magic Loop method) with gauge needle
