Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit in the round
  • basic decreasing
  • cast on

Pattern Description:

Your little one (or kooky friend) will love playing dinosaur in this fun spiky hat! It's worked in the round as a simple fold-over rib brim cap. Spikes are knit separately and stitched onto the top of the hat or you can pick up stitches to make it seamless. Sizing implies stretching for a snug fit, size up if you prefer a looser fitting cap. Shown in Toddler size. Matching mittens pattern sold separately.

Gauge:

18 sts and 25 rows per 4 inches in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Circumference: 12.5(14.25, 16, 17.75, 19.5, 21.25) inches
  • Size: Newborn(Infant, Toddler, Child, Adult Small, Adult Large)

Materials:

  • 48(55, 60, 75, 85, 95) yards A and 35(40, 45, 58, 65, 75) yards B worsted weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • Size 6(4 mm) and size 7(4.5 mm) 16" circular needles and set of size 7 DPNs, stitch marker
