Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Working in the round, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing.

Pattern Description:

Get the elegant and intricate look of cables without the work!

If you can knit in the round, increase, decrease, knit, and purl, you can make these mitts. With a gusset thumb, they come off the needles ready to wear.

The garter stitch rib has a lot of give, so don't worry too much about the gauge. If you're in the ballpark with the needle size and a worsted weight yarn, these should fit.

Includes both written and charted instructions.

Gauge:

6 stitches and 7 rounds = 1" (2.5cm) in stockinette stitch, unblocked.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size, to fit a woman's average hand. (About 7" around and 8.5" long, unstretched.)

Materials:

  • One set of 4 double-pointed needles (dpns), size 5 (3.75mm)

You Will Also Need:

  • Stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Suggested yarn:

80 yards of Worsted weight
