This is a simple, cuff-down sock intended to be 'comfort' knitting-- the kind of project you grab when you want something soothing and relaxing to work-- with just a little bit of texture thrown in for interest. The pattern works particularly well with variegated yarns and is written with beginners in mind, with many steps explained in detail and a photo tutorial about picking up gusset stitches included at the end.
The pattern is both written and charted. It is written for three sizes that can be worked at three different gauges with fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn to fit a variety of foot sizes, including both men and women. This pattern has been test knit.
fingering - 8 sts/inch, 12 rounds/inch in stockinette in the round
sport - 7.5 sts/inch, 11 rounds/inch in stockinette in the round
DK - 6 sts/inch, 12 rounds/inch in stockinette in the round

Other than knitting I love poetry, books, music, and science. I'm engaged to a wonderful guy (a.k.a. the Fiasco) and we have a very sweet cat, Calypso, and new kitten, Darwin.
