Pattern Description:

This bag is meant to keep you mindful about your knitting.... The lotus is one of the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism, and specifically, the red lotus symbolizes love, compassion, passion, activity and all the qualities of the heart. A bit like knitting, if you ask me!

Materials:

  • 440 yds of feltable (i.e. non-superwash) wool in complimentary colors. I used 1 skein each of Cascade 220 in #2413 and #2427, but you should pick colors YOU like! Pattern refers to color A and color B; A is the body and B the petals.
  • 16" 5mm (US 8) circular needle
  • 5mm (US 8) DPNs and/or second 5mm circular needle

You Will Also Need:

  • Yarn or tapestry needle
  • 2 yds cotton waste yarn (for bottom up method only, see pattern for details)
  • Handles of your choice; seen here, Shibui Knits mango wood Curved Purse Handles (ordering code AHC), measuring 9" x 2". You can also knit your own.
  • 1 stitch marker
  • Coordinating sewing thread and needle
