Basic Skills Necessary:

  • short row shapings
  • yarn-overs at the beginning of a row
  • three-needle bind-off

Pattern Description:

An easy-to-wear, stash-busting, short-row shawl, worked from the tip to the middle on either side!

This waist length shawl with wrap-around ties was designed to show off the attributes of fantasy yarns and make the most of every inch of them. An ideal stash buster and a universally acceptable gift. Glitzy or plain, this pattern is adaptable to a variety of yarns.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • variable


  • 480 m / 440 yds DK weight wool in Background colour (B) (approximately 50g = 120 m/ 110yds). 150 m / 175 yds Contrast colour (C) - may be assorted, fancy, multi-coloured, or textured.
  • 6mm circular needle

You Will Also Need:

  • An second circular needle is helpful for holding the stitches of the first side of the shawl. Two dpns are useful for the optional I-cord tassel attachments.

Suggested yarn:

600 meters of DK weight
