Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in one round
  • weave in yarntails and beginnings during knitting
  • knit and purl

Pattern Description:

Cute raccoons directly looking at you are all around this beanie!
The hat has a two color (corrugated) ribbing, followed by the side view of a cute raccoon and tiny border (peerie) pattern and another raccoon from the front. At the top are 6 raccoon faces and some raccoon paw prints that looks from the top like a flower.

The beanie is knitted completely in 4-ply sock yarn of different manufacturers. But you can also use Acrylic yarn of similar weight or 5-ply yarn.

You need (4-ply sock yarn yardage 210 " 211 m/50g):
About 20 g in dark green, 25 g in white, 20 g in dark gray, 30 g in black, 10 g in grass green.

Note: there are at most two colors in one round.
So it's easier to knit than you think!

Gauge:

Knitting gauge in stranded pattern: 1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows (2 x 2 cm: 6 stitches and 7
rows).

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This beanie fits size S and M. (about 54 " 56 cm head circumreference)

Materials:

  • You need (4-ply sock yarn yardage 210 " 211 m/50g): About 20 g in dark green, 25 g in white, 20 g in dark gray, 30 g in black, 10 g in grass green.
  • Or Acrylic yarn of similar weight or 5-ply yarn
  • Circular needle 40 cm 3.00 mm and 5 double pointed needles size 3.00 mm for the top of the head.

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight

Colorway:

black, off-white(or white), dark green, grass green, dark grey
