Pattern Description:

This pattern is a good start if you are planning to explore the intarsia technique a little. You will work plain and patterned intarsia, both on the flat piece and in the round. The result is a pretty set of winterly accessories that includes a scarf, a hat and mittens.

As always a detailed illustrated appendix explains all techniques used to work all three projects.

Gauge:

28 sts and 28 ridges* = 4/10 cm
*1 ridge is made up of 2 rows
- US#1/2.5 mm - Garter stitch, knit flat (i.e. in rows)

  • US#1.5/2.5 mm needles
  • US#2.5/3 mm needles

You Will Also Need:

  • Crochet hook US#B-1/2.5 mm (for chain of slip sts)
  • Waste yarn (to mark increases)
  • 18 (19, 20) stitch markers (to mark the beginning of rnd and the decreases)
