It was my first time doing a shawl like this so the start of the aspen leaf lace was a little confusing. I tried to repeat it across the whole thing first then i started it going the wrong way but now that I am going the right way its going great!

please be sure and read the pattern first. There will always be 3 knit stitches on each end. In the Body Pattern section, the first line SHOULD read, K3, slm, yo, knit to next m, yo, slm, yo, knit to the next mr, YO, slm, k3. The pattern reads (at the end of that line) to knit to next m, slm, yo, k3. If you to do then you'll have 4 stitches on the end instead of the 3. Just saying......

It's odd-- I was expecting a chart, since the description says knitter must be able to read from charts. But no charts! Ha! I'll see if I can go back to written instructions again, lol! :-D

Like the pattern but noticed a chart did not download with the PDF. Not an issue for me, charts aren't my favorite but some knitters prefer charts to written. I like the fact it isn't in fingering yarn, nice to have one thst would work up a bit quicker but still have that delicate look, very nice.

Thanks so much! It's funny you say that about the charts, because SO many people message us on our charted patterns asking for written instructions. We thought we'd give the people what they want with this one. :)

i agree about wanting written instructions, I have such a time with remembering what each mark is for it takes the fun out of it for me.
