Pattern Description:

This lusciously lightweight shrug in delicate cabled lace is knitted cuff to cuff with no seams to sew.

The photographed sample model was knitted in a soft metallic-enhanced yarn plied with tiny glass seed beads to really "put on the glitz". However, you can use any lace weight of light fingering weight yarn.

Gauge:

21 stitches and 24 rows per 4 inches over cabled lace stitch pattern used in main body of shrug.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Petite through extra-large
  • Cuff edge to cuff edge (length of knitting) 55 (58, 61, 64, 67)"
  • Center back distance (width of knitting) 26.25 (28, 28, 29.75, 29.75)"
  • Cuff circumference: 8 (8.5, 8.5, 9, 9)"

Materials:

  • Lace weight or light fingering weight yarn 725 (850, 925, 1000, 1075) yards
  • Straight or circular knitting needles for main body of shrug (knitted flat) US 8 (5 mm) or size to achieve gauge. Also, double points or circulars in same size for transition from cuff to main body.
  • Your choice of double points or circular needles for knitting the cuffs circularly and for transition to flat knittng US 3 (3.25 mm) or comparably smaller needle size to that for which you get gauge.

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 cable needles
