Pattern Description:

No homework yet! Just bobbles and a cute i-cord topper on this toddler hat. A single pattern from the collection, Elementary Hats, also available on Craftsy.

5 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch in the round.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Child-sized: 6.5" from unstretched rolled brim to base of i-cord topper when measured flat. See guidelines for sizing up or down.

  • 4 colors of worsted weight wool. In the example, I used Knit Picks Swish and Cascade 220. You'll need about 130 yards of main color and fewer than 20 yards each of the embellishing colors.

You Will Also Need:

  • 16" circular needles, size US 7 (4.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge (I am a loose knitter so in the example, I used size US 6) and additional needles for small-diameter knitting (DPNs, a second circular or a long Magic Loop needle). Tapestry needle.

Suggested yarn:

200 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

I used Knit Picks Swish and Cascade 220.
