Pattern Description:

Looking for an interesting hat that will keep you warm but still look trendy? Look no farther! Pomponious Hat is a perfect project for any knitter.
Depending on your mood, it can be worn two different ways: with or without the pompom. The pompom adds a fun touch; but it can be omitted if you(tm)re after a little more classic hat.
The relatively simple and easy to follow stitch pattern creates an interesting and fashionable look.
Both written and charted directions are included.

Gauge:

13 sts and 18 rounds per 4 [10cm] in stockinette stitch with larger needles after blocking

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • small (medium, large) Finished measurements: 19 (22, 24) inches [47.5 (56, 61) cm] Head Circumference.

Materials:

  • hat: approx. 130 (150, 170) yards [119 (137, 155) meters] of Bulky weight yarn that knits up to gauge
  • pompom: approx. 50 yards [46 meters] of any DK weight yarn.

You Will Also Need:

  • US 10 [6.0 mm] & US 10 1/2 [6.5 mm] 16 (40cm) circular needles
  • Tapestry needle
  • Safety pin
  • Stitch marker
